Faustwork performances are low tech and high impact! For best viewing and audience satisfaction, we always ask for the ideal set-up; however, we are very adaptable and can work in a wide variety of situations.
Set-up: 90 minutes
Strike: 30 minutes
Venues: Whenever possible, the hall/room should be arranged so that the stage faces the length of the room. For optimum sight lines, more rows going deeper into the room are better than wide rows. Pipe and drape on floor behind stage and angled off to each side is ideal. Stage should be set up near a wall, away from entrance.
Stage Dimensions/Details: 16 feet wide by 12 feet deep is acceptable. 20 feet wide by 16 feet deep is ideal. All sections of risers should be well secured from below. All seams on surface of stage should be taped. Stairs to stage should be on the side/s, not in front.
Stage Height: Presentation on floor level with audience is acceptable. Presentation on stage two to three feet high is ideal.
Tables/Chairs to be used on stage: Two armless chairs and two tables of equal height, five or six feet each in length, will be used on stage. Tables should remain undressed; Mr. Faust will provide table cover.
Lighting: General house lighting is sufficient. If stage lighting is available, a warm general wash, from the front, high sides, with some pale pink and/or pale amber gels is ideal. A total of four to six instruments, two or three on each side, is sufficient. Two lighting stands should be placed eight to sixteen feet in front of stage, and off to each side. House lights over the audience should be at approximately 50% intensity during the presentation.
Sound: Venue must provide sound system, one hand-held cordless mic, or one mic on a long cord.
